Hi everyone! Hope you’re well!
Nine Lessons
Well we’re now just under three weeks under Nine Lessons and Carols for Curious People 2024 kicks off at Kings Place! Tickets for all dates are on sale now. There are very few tickets left for the evening performances on Friday December 13th and Saturday December 14th, but there’s still some good seats left for the evening of Sunday December 15th and, quite frankly, far too many seats overall left for the Saturday December 14th matinee.
There are incredible lineups for each show so makes sure you get in now!!
Just some of the new guests announced in the last few weeks include Tanita Tikaram, Rosie Jones, Andy Zaltzman, Subhadra Das, Bec Hill, David McAlmont and Clara Nellist!!!
This year, all profits will go to our two chosen charities, Hope Not Hate as well as our long time charity partners Two Wheels for Life.
We will also be collecting donations on site for the Euston Foodbank as usual. Please bring any items you can to donate, there will be a collection point by the merchandise stand.
The most urgently needed items this year are canned tuna, corn beef, biscuits, chocolates, long life custard, rice pudding, rice, dry pasta and nuts.

Book Shambles
We’ve been busy popping up lots of new episodes of Book Shambles that we hope you’ve been enjoying. Robin and Josie kicked things off a few weeks ago and since then we’ve had lots of great guests from live events including Stuart Murdoch of Belle and Sebastian, Chris Lintott, Alexis Pauline Gumbs, Claudia Hammond and Jakko Jakszyk. Audio versions are free for all and available wherever you get your podcasts, with extended video editions for paid Patreon and Substack Subscribers.
Other Shows
Last week our lead producer and co-founder Trent Burton gave the keynote speech at the Institute of Physics communicators conference about how Shambles approaches communicating science to the wider world. We’ll put up a version of the talk soon if we can.
A few other Shambles chums have got some fun shows to check out in the next week or two as well.
Josie Long is doing a work in progress gig TONIGHT and December 1st at the Glasgow Stand, so check that out. Hannah Platt has just announced her first UK tour as well. And Grace Petrie and Charlotte Carpenter have tours on sale as well.
And this coming Saturday night Steve Pretty is doing a special live version of his music podcast The Origin of the Pieces in London. Our own Robin Ince will be one of the special guests alongside Guy Pratt, fresh off his work tour with David Gilmour. Tickets from the link above.
